Bow and Go (Little Touches)

Today I had school so I wore something a little more simple. I went with a pair of mid rise jeans from Urban Outfitters, which I'm really fond of because of how it's in between low rise and high waisted jeans. I wore an Ivory short sleeved button up shirt with lace detailing on the color along with a navy cardigan. Two trends I've really been loving lately are statement headbands (like the plaid one I wore today) and an off centered belt. I thought these little touches added a bit of edge. I finished the outfit with my maroon high tops and some rust colored lipstick (thoughtful by Tarte). Overall this outfit was simple enough for school but had edge through easy little touches.(:

The Go To Shoes

A staple piece in my wardrobe would be a pair of Chucks. I own about eight pairs and absolutely adore Converse for their versatility and vintage edge. Right now my favorite pair would be my maroon high tops that look amazing with both jeans and shorts or skirts. I also love the slim shoes that I own in red and pink, which are a more feminine version of the shoe. Overall they're easily some of my favorite shoes.(:

Sunday, Sweater Day

Today I had church and was serving, so I had to dress up a little bit. Typically I would wear a dress for this type of thing, but today I was feeling cold so I went with this outfit instead, as it's another one  of my go to looks. I'm wearing an antique sweater my mom actually picked up at a craft show, and it's the warmest thing in the whole world! I'm wearing a denim shirt underneath it with the collar peeking out of the top. To add a little more color to the outfit, I'm wearing red pants. To finish the clean look of the outfit I'm wearing some brown riding boots. I'll typically go for a red lip with this outfit as well and winged eyeliner. One of my favorite looks for winter.(:

My Ideal Cozy Day

For a day like today when I'm just lounging around, I like to be comfortable without feeling like I couldn't go outside or see someone. My go to hair style for a day like this would be a braid or a high pony tail, which are easy to do and get your hair out of your face. I put on my favorite pair of high-waisted jeggings that are unbelievably comfortable, along with a slouchy graphic tee inspired by the American flag. As I said before, where I live is freezing, so I added an open army green button up shirt to add a little more coverage and warmth. Finally, a must have for all cozy days are fuzzy socks because they just make life more comfy. :)

The Fairy With Anger Issues Part

Part of my description says that I like to dress like a "vintage fairy princess with anger issues," not to be confused with saying I have anger issues! I love wearing dresses or extremely feminine pieces with edgier pieces such as a leather jacket. I absolutely adore leather jackets, but the one I'm wearing here (army green with black leather sleeves) is my absolute favorite. I love how it looks with a dress that has a very simple, feminine, floral silhoutte. I've also been loving side buns recently as they can make an outfit more dressy, but can also be made to look messy and casual. I wore black oxfords shoes with this outfit to make it a bit more cutesy.

A Classic Example of my Not So Classic Style

A key aspect of my style is taking inspiration from classic things and making them my own. I also particularly love incorporating menswear in my outfits and feminizing them. Here I wore my favorite classic black bow tie and made it more casual by pairing it with a distressed denim shirt. I feminized the outfit by wearing a classic black skater skirt and some cute polka dot tights. My signature oversized glasses added a touch more quirkiness that I particularly love and balance the outfit. Where I live we have over three feet of snow right now, so I’m happy to think of the spring days when I will be able to wear an outfit like this without getting frostbite. Happy thoughts.(:
